Hi, I'm Crystal, I'm a junior health science major on the track to physical therapy. And I also run cross country and track here at Sage. So, a long time ago, there was a popular cartoon we can't show you because we don't own the rights to it. But we'll do a simple drawing meant to give you a clue. And the cartoon had this teacher in it who had a voice that was just a random noise because all the -- completely copyrighted so we can't show you that kids in the class -- thought other teachers as some super boring voice at the front of the room.
Some people think of college professors that way too. We're not "some people." Your professors at Russell Sage want you to be excited about what you're learning. This is Professor McElligott. He teaches our graphic MBA design program and is the author and illustrator of children's books that have sold half a million copies around the world.
This is Professor Majeran. In addition to teaching in the nursing program, he runs the simulation lab. This is used by our nursing, PT, OT and other health science majors. It gives students a chance to practice on high tech mannequin patients before they practice on real humans.
And this is Professor Obuya. She makes the subject of Chemistry and Biochemistry come to life with engaged learning projects that focus on using science to provide safe drinking water around the world. She even took a group of students at Kenya as part of that work.
Engaged learning isn't just the fun you're having in your classes, but the required clinical, student teaching, fieldwork, or internships that may be part of your major. And like everything and Russell stage, we help support you in finding those too.
A lot of these engaged learning experiences are great things to put on your resume for when you graduate and go to land that first job. Russell Sage guarantees that every student has at least two resume building experiences during their time here. And most students have more than that, because, like another copyrighted cartoon, you might want to catch them all.
And since we're introducing people, this is Noora. Noora is currently in the master's in counseling and community psychology program. She was a psychology major and undergrad. She works at our inner culture cafe in Albany and works at USCRI... Just one of the 96% of graduates who are employed or accepted to grad school after finishing their degree. So engaged learning is fun, but it also gets you to your goals.
