To me to be a student athlete at Sage means you're accomplishing a lot. It's not easy to be a student athlete, right, or else everyone would do it. But it shows that you're able to handle your academic rigor. But it also means that you're succeeding on the field.
A student athlete to me is just being the best whether it's at your sport or academics,
I'm personally proud to be a Sage Gator because it's something different about playing for this college. It's just tighter with the coaches, the training staff. Everyone's there to just help and have that care that you might not find out that DI or DII level.
We are a Division III school and we play in the Empire Eight Conference, which is a really competitive conference. And it's a nice balance here because you are able to focus on your academics and still play the sport, which is nice.
We're all super close during a game or like during a serious drill. We're all there. We're all making sure we're doing our best but like, off the field, we're there for each other. Like if one person is going through something, we're there for them.
They're always checking on you, make sure your grades are up. And I think that helped me a lot during my freshman year.
When you walk around campus, people are gonna say hi to you, they're gonna know who you are, they're gonna know where you're from, they know what sport you play, what clubs are part of, what major you are, and you're not gonna fall through the cracks here. And professors are well above and beyond to make sure that you're successful, and just as administration will do, and we just want to see you become the best version of yourself.
